For the last ten years or so, I have been creating and installing a Christmas-themed lighting display at the front of our one-acre block of land in our tiny town in Southeast Queensland, Australia.
I usually start planning what the display will look like in the last week of November and either put together what is necessary or create something new. This year, there was nothing new other than a new star ( the smaller of the two). Everything went well this year, except that I find things a little harder each year owing to my age (84) and a slowly deteriorating body. My wife has forbidden me from climbing the ladder onto the roof these days ( I can’t understand why).
My old Nikon (not working) would have coped a lot better with taking the following photos, but at least these, taken with a video camera, give an idea of what it looks like in the flesh. Excuse the quality of the finished product, but night photography is not entirely within my experience or knowledge.

Sorry about the quality of the photos, but at least they give you an idea of the colour we have added to our streetscape. By the way, our neighbour down the street also has put together a good splash of colour. Seeing cars drive slowly down the street and stop for a little while outside each house is gratifying.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Prosperous New Year. May good health and happiness be with you forever.
All the best, Phil
No need to apologize for the photographs. You did a great job with the displays and the photographs. Warmest regards, Ed
