I could not ignore the absolutely amazing sky colours that my wife brought to my attention last night just after sunset. Here are a few dramatic photos to give you an idea of what it looked like, although no camera can do the scene complete justice. My electronically connected friend, Ed, regularly sends me excellent photos on a daily basis, and my best efforts will never match his. These photos are taken from the end of my back verandah at my home at the end of a hot summer’s day in Yarraman, Queensland, Australia. Enjoy!

The view changed so quickly that I did not have time to reposition myself to achieve a different foreground. The dead straight lines alongside a blue section of the clouds in some photos (1st and 4th) are unusual, although the camera did not pick up what was very obvious to me. I think that the mood of the images is quite dramatic, although there were no storms around, which is often the case later in the day at this time of year. Unfortunately, my wide-angle lens was not nearly wide enough to take in the entire vista. In the future, unless an opportunity falls into my lap, as it did this time, I think I will leave it up to the experts, including you, Ed.
Phil:
You did a very good job. Keep it up.
Warmest regards. Ed
